- The Village Co-op has its very own in-store bakery.
Our bakers make breakfast pastries such as danish, muffins and scones,
fresh every day. Enjoy them with hot, fresh coffee or tea while you relax
in the Schmooze Space. The kitchen also makes hot breakfast sandwiches
on famous H & H bagels from NYC (also available plain or
with cream cheese). And we have special brunch offerings
from chef Denise on Sunday mornings.
- Come in the morning and you'll enjoy the aroma of fresh bread
baking, to be put out around 11 a.m. daily. We bake a variety of breads
each week, from rye to challah to French loves.
We also carry some specialty breads, scones, and pastries
from small, local bakeries such as El Jardin and Wheatberries.
- For lunch or snacks any time, check
out the deli case - spicy noodles, tempeh, burritos,
Greek salads, hearty lumberjack sandwiches,
Laureen's 'sunshine sandwiches', and more.
Deli items are made in our own kitchen and
include fresh, organic ingredients, especially
in the summer. You may special order deli items
for small parties at your home. Call ahead and
pick up your order during store hours.
- On Wednesday's, the kitchen makes a hearty lunch special,
different each week. And our own pizza comes hot out of
the oven for weekday and Saturday lunches,
as well as Friday evenings.
On Friday, you can pre-order a whole pie with toppings
of your choice, to be picked up
at the Co-op.
- For dessert, try some moist chocolate cake, a fruit crumble, or
Bob's tapioca pudding made with coconut milk.
Cookies of course, and fresh-baked pies in season. Ask our bakers
about ordering cakes or pies for your special occasions.
